SLRF - Emergency Assistance Centre Training
Aim of Course
To understand the purpose and operation of Emergency Assistance Centres and the role of the agencies involved.
Objectives
- Outline the function of the different centres, when, where and how they will be activated
- Gain an understanding of the responsibilities of the various agencies involved in opening and managing the centres
- Understand the registration process
- Delegates will be able to identify the key requirements for operating the different centres
Target Audience
Designated District / Borough Council staff; Community Health and Mental Health Provider staff; Police Officers / staff; Casualty Bureau staff; Faith, Community and Voluntary groups; designated staff from Surrey County Council Adult Social Care and Children’s Service who may have a role in such a centre.
Officers working within organisations responsible for liaising with the media, their own staff, the public and those roles requiring an oversight of the LRF multi-agency requirements.
This training is delivered by SLRF and open to its members. Each Surrey Borough contributes to Surrey's Local Resilience Forum (SLRF). Part of this contribution is delivered through supporting training for Surrey responders. In most cases there is no charge per attendee for training, although some courses, such as those requiring external trainers or venues, there can be an additional cost per delegate.
It would be beneficial (but it is not essential) if delegates have completed the Surrey LRF Introduction to Civil Protection training to give them a background to emergency response arrangements in Surrey.
