Prevention of Radical Extremism

£0.00 exc VAT

The Prevent agenda is not new to local authorities, but keeping everyone trained to the right level, in a way that really works (rather than a way that just ticks a box) isn’t easy. Our training can be adapted to suit you, but it can cover what Prevent is (and isn’t), how radicalisation happens, how to spot it, and what to do. This half-day course can make a real, lasting difference to your communities and the lives of individuals within them.

This course is great for:
All staff, including frontline staff, safeguarding leads, elected members, leadership and management teams, and Community Safety Partnerships. We can work with you to determine who needs training and to what level.

We’ll cover:

  • What Prevent is and how it fits into your organisation
  • Why Prevent matters
  • What Prevent is not
  • The process of radicalisation
  • How to recognise when someone might be vulnerable to radicalisation
  • What support looks like
  • Identifying appropriate concerns and how to raise them
  • What happens after a referral
  • Channel Panels
  • Case studies

For Guildford, Spelthorne and Runnymede staff, this training is offered for free as part of our ongoing services.
