Jessica Lira, a Senior Resilience Advisor in our team, also works with Surrey Search & Rescue. After months of planning, on 29 September 2018, she led a live multi agency exercise, exercise DOMINO. The exercise was designed to test arrangements for a rapid deployment, search and rescue and leasing between agencies.
After reports of a paragliders crashing on Reigate, the police quickly deployed Search & Rescue Teams. The team successfully located the survivors, delivering extensive on scene medical treatment and a rope rescue extraction from Surrey Fire & Rescue Service.
The exercise tested multi agency working, communication and a greater understanding of what services can offer each other. The exercise was followed by a full debrief ensuring lessons were identified.
