George Roots
Senior Incident Management & Resilience Lead
Bio
George is a crisis response and resilience specialist with a background in UK central government, working at the heart of national crisis response.
He has worked across a wide range of crises, from pandemics and international conflict to cyber-attacks and supply chain disruption, developing both risk-specific and generic response arrangements. His career has included roles supporting the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), the Ministry of Defence, and the Department for Business and Trade (now BIST), where he advised ministers and senior leaders during live incidents. He has sat on exercise boards delivering national scale exercises, helped shape national resilience policy, and delivered projects to build UK national resilience.
At Applied Resilience, George supports clients to strengthen their incident management, response planning and exercising. Drawing on his experience briefing senior decision-makers under pressure, he helps organisations cut through the noise of a crisis so that the right people have the right information at the right time.
