Bio

Amanda Fahey is a senior strategic leader in local government with a 27‑year career spanning local authority finance across both District and Unitary Councils in Hampshire, Berkshire, Essex and, most recently, Surrey.

She has served as a Section 151 Officer at four different authorities, bringing deep expertise in financial leadership, statutory governance, risk management and organisational assurance. Since December 2021, Amanda has been the Assistant Chief Executive and Section 151 Officer (Chief Financial Officer) at Runnymede Borough Council.

While finance, risk and governance are at the core of her professional expertise, Amanda also leads a broad portfolio of services beyond traditional financial functions, including Assets and Regeneration, Customer Services, Digital and Collections, and Procurement. This breadth of responsibility gives her a strong systems‑level perspective on organisational resilience, transformation and value for money.

Amanda holds an Upper Second Class honours degree from the Open University, combining earlier legal studies at UWIST (University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology) with a range of social science disciplines. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a designation awarded in recognition of extensive professional experience, sustained commitment to continuing professional development, and the highest standards of ethics.

Outside of work, Amanda is a keen dog lover and the proud owner of a pedigree German Shepherd and a rescue Husky cross.
