Bio
Nick founded Applied Resilience to provide expert, real-world support to those responsible for keeping services running when it matters most. With 20 years of experience in emergency planning and business continuity, he now leads a team working to strengthen UK resilience—supporting public and private sector partners across the country.
Nick’s career spans the full spectrum of local risk and national contingency. He has advised organisations with billion-pound operating budgets, complex political leadership, and strict regulatory oversight—across both the public and private sectors. From utilities and infrastructure providers to councils and NHS trusts, his work has supported strategic response to flooding, terrorism, pandemic pressures, and more.
Nick has played senior roles in some of the UK’s most complex resilience challenges, including the mobilisation of the first mass vaccination site, major recovery planning at local and regional levels, and multi-agency coordination during live incidents. His portfolio also includes leading contributions to national exercises such as ORION, WATERMARK, and MIGHTY OAK.
A certified business continuity professional (CBCI), ISO27001 lead practitioner, and qualified trainer (L3 AET), Nick combines technical authority with calm, senior-level judgement. He is a trusted advisor to chief executives, gold commanders, and corporate boards—helping them make sense of complex risk, build confident teams, and lead with clarity in moments of crisis.
