SLRF - Tactical Emergency Management Training
Aim of Course
To prepare staff for the role of Tactical Incident Management
Objectives
By the end of the event you will be able to:
- Explain the role of the strategic, tactical and operational level in the UK Concept of Operations
- Understand how the multi-agency emergency response is directed and co-ordinated
- Analyse tactical issues in an emergency and create a M/ETHANE report, dynamic risk assessment and identify initial priorities and actions
- Analyse issues in an emergency and how to create situational awareness
- Make tactical decisions as part of a team in table-top exercises
- Understand what is required to represent your organisation at a Tactical Co-ordinating Group
Target Audience
This course is aimed at Surrey Local Resilience Forum partners who would perform the role of tactical command for their organisations during a Major Incident or emergency. The course will
explore why the Tactical Commander must understand what worries the Operational Commanders and the Strategic Commander, and how this awareness can be used to support the response to and recover from an incident.

As this course involves an external trainer, there is a cancellation cost of £170.
This training is delivered by Surrey's Local Resilience Forum (SLRF) and open to its members. Each Surrey Borough contributes to SLRF. Part of this contribution is delivered through supporting training for Surrey responders. In most cases there is no charge per attendee for training, although some courses, such as those requiring external trainers or venues, there can be an additional cost per delegate.
