Multi-Agency Gold Incident Command (MAGIC)-Lite training

Aim of Course
MAGIC is a nationally recognised training course delivered by expert trainers the College of Policing. MAGIC-Lite is a shortened, two-day version of the MAGIC course, brought to Surrey for the benefit of multi-agency Surrey LRF partners.

The MAGIC Course aims to develop delegates' confidence, understanding and ability to perform the role of Gold Strategic Commander by planning, implementing and reviewing a multi-agency strategy to ensure the timely resolution of a major incident/civil emergency.

Objectives
The MAGIC Course will assist delegates in developing their performance by providing an opportunity for them to be able to:

  • Define the roles and responsibilities of different agencies during the various stages of a Major Incident/civil emergency
  • Take strategic 'Gold' command of a major incident/civil emergency
  • Plan, implement and review civil contingency plans and multi-agency communication strategies.

Target Audience
MAGIC is aimed at Category 1 Responders from the 'blue light'
services and partner agencies who would normally perform strategic command for their organisation during a Major Incident/civil emergency, or those who are currently developing into this strategic role.

This training is delivered by Surrey's Local Resilience Forum (SLRF) and open to its members. Each Surrey Borough contributes to SLRF. Part of this contribution is delivered through supporting training for Surrey responders.

This course is delivered by the College of Policing. As such the cost per delegate is £440.
